Our Early Learning Director

Alycia Walton holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth-5 years) and is a seasoned Early Childhood Educator with more than 17 years of experience in the field. Having completed her degree and working for over 10 years in Australia, Alycia relocated to Canada in 2017, where she re-entered the field of Early Childhood Education and discovered a newfound passion for guiding and mentoring emerging educators.

Alycia’s pedagogy is underpinned by her faith and belief that a loving God created every child with a unique purpose. She believes children’s learning experiences in their early years set the foundation for lifelong learning. Alycia sees all children as natural learners, inherently creative and curious about the world. In her view, educators play a crucial role in nurturing these innate qualities as children explore, develop, and grow. Through respectful and trusting relationships with children, families, and the community, Alycia believes that children can be supported to become healthy, balanced, and compassionate members of the community.

Recognizing the pivotal role of quality education and care during a child’s formative years, Alycia is dedicated to elevating the standards of early childhood education and care in Canada. Alycia is passionate about leadership and believes that effective leadership cultivates inspired and motivated educators who strive to learn, grow, and be the best they can be in their roles.
